Jihi in Buddhist text means; the mind or mental condition of being compassionate, or sympathetic toward others. Ji (maitri) means giving happiness, and Hi (Karuna) means removing pain and suffering. Jihi Charitable Corporation aims to reduce world suffering by promoting donations in the field of education, healthcare and environment protection.
Transparency and sustaining donor’s interest in its programs are challenges faced by every nonprofit. Transparency is vital to maintain the public trust on which nonprofit organizations depend to do their work. In addition donors often feel the need to be connected directly with the end recipient of their donations. While there are some nonprofits which provide direct connection between donors and recipients, these are limited to small local nonprofits. A medium is needed which allows nonprofits to make the donation process interactive and transparent.
Jihi charitable corporation has been setup to provide a platform which allows nonprofits to increase transparency and interaction in the donation process. The platform is particularly suited for small grassroots nonprofits who have limited access to fundraising and thanks to their direct work are able to provide regular feedback to donor(s). Jihi intends to use the affordability and interactivity provided by internet to fulfill its objective. |
